Many people noclip in games and get into unintended, developer-only sections of the game. The Backrooms are the same concept, except in real life. You go into the wrong area and fall through a solid floor, or lean against an isolated wall, and fall through it into the Backrooms.

Backrooms Level List

The Backrooms are said to have an infinite number of levels. Many of those Backrooms levels are also infiite in nature. Each level is known to change, sometimes in unbeleivable ways. This means that any Backroom level could contain different experiences for every visitor. This list can never be complete, comprehensive, or even the same as any other list due to the vast changing nature of the Backrooms. However, I do my best to keep a large, up-to-date list together.

  • Backrooms Level -0.1: "Wisp Corridors"

    Level -0.1 gained the nickname, "Wisp Corridors", because of its dreamlike, otherworldly qualities. The whole level has a luminescent ethereal quality. One of the most iconic entities on this level is the glowing, ethereal wisps.

    This level of intertwining hallways contains self-lit corridors pulsing with soft, almost bioluminescent light. Wisps like those of ancients mariner legends have found their home on this level, an may indicate an exit to somewhere on the high seas of the Frontrooms. Even the floor shares the same bioluminescent glow, begging the question, "Is this whole level alive?"

  • Backrooms Level -0.2: Subliminal Threshold

    Subliminal Threshold, also known as Level -0.2, merges reality and dream, illusions and haunting whispers. This level seems like a dream or a hallucination.

    Imagine a dream-scape populated by your deepest, hidden desires. Level -0.2 ebbs and flows with wish fulfillment from the traveler’s desires and emotions. The walls, floor, and ceiling of Subliminal Threshold look like an iridescent liquid, until they begin displaying the traveler’s desires. The transformation is instantaneous. One moment, you see the iridescent, liquid-like halls of Level -0.2, and then next moment sun-dappled meadows or chaotic cityscapes appear. Traveler's favorite memories can appear in vivid detail, without notice. All of this seduces the traveler into non-activity. Many travelers have died happily of hunger or thirst, fixated on the mirages of the Subliminal Threshold.

    Static Haven, also known as Backrooms Level -0.3, transports travelers to a landscape where audible, static buzzing and an eerie, visual interference assault the traveler’s hearing and sight.

    Level-0.3, also known as Static Haven, appears as a colorful staticky landscape. Structures and entities blend into and reflect the static, making them hard to see. The air hums with a buzz that matches the visual static.
